Tape works but read ALL instructions, pre-shaped lifters too large

This was my first time using tape of any sort so I think I'll have a learning curve. I read all the instructions but when it came to the night of I did not remember everything. I don't totally understand how to not stretch the tape as you put it on, so I ended up damaging some of my skin by creating too much tension it seems. The pre-shaped boob lifters are MUCH too large even though I referred to the sizing charts and measurements. I got in touch with customer service who said you can cut them to size, but that defeats the purpose of having something preshaped. I understand a little cutting, but 1 single one basically covers my whole chest. It would be a complete reshaping which I do not have the skill for
